eighth note records was formed by a group of musicians and music lovers who came together and pooled resources to create and distribute their own musical visions. along the way, we've also met friends, fueled the muse, and built long-lasting partnerships. enr is about creating a supportive circle of musicians that share resources and help each other shape and release the music we love.

our goal:
we try to stay single-minded: to actualize and distribute the music that our artists create. no other criteria is necessary. no charts to consult (other than the stars!), no record exec’s to placate, no demographic to please. this simple strategy is resulting in great music, and audiences are gathering to listen.
about the logo:
we get asked what our eighth note logo is. one of our founders, Michael, was driving to work and hit a bump in the road that sent a big dollup of coffee on to his new thermal sweater. later, upon doing laundry, he was dismayed to find the coffee stain had survived the washing. But upon closer inspection he realized the stain looked like an eighth note! an impressionistic one, granted, but an eighth note just the same. a logo and a record company name both found at the bottom of a coffee cup.

Our “spot” in music history. in the end, our slogan, the power of independence, more accurately describes our commitment to remaining “mean and lean” so that we can keep the artists and the music as the focus rather than commercialization and the industry. but our favorite was “stain” alive!
